What to expect on
your first visit
Friendship Baptist is located at 8580 Cheviot Road in Colerain Township and we are just a short distance south of the Colerain High School campus. Even though our church can be easily seen from the Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway, there is no exit at Cheviot Road so if you are traveling on Ronald Reagan, you would take either the Colerain Avenue or Blue Rock Road Exit. As you enter our parking lot from Cheviot Road, you will find several parking spaces reserved for visitors. One of our greeters will meet you at the door and will help direct you to the service or classes. Information is also available at the Welcome Center in the main lobby.
A typical worship service will consist of a traditional blend style of congregational and special singing, clear, challenging Bible preaching concluding with an invitation to make personal decisions to follow Christ as Savior or to walk more closely with Him. In addition, on Sunday evenings, our service includes a special prayer time when we commit to pray for another person throughout the coming week.
Sunday School is at 9:30 am and is sandwiched between our two worship services. Bible teaching is the main emphasis in our twelve adult classes as well as the classes for children, infants through high school. These classes are smaller group settings and it is the best way to meet and interact with others.
The Wednesday evening service is a teaching venue called “Walk Through the Word.” The focus is a systematic Bible study but also includes some congregational singing and special music. During this time, children can enjoy our AWANA clubs and teens often meet for Students With A Target. A nursery is also provided.
Where do I take my
children?
The well staffed, secure nursery suite is located on the second floor and workers there will happily receive your infant through three year old children. Just take the elevator from the main lobby; the nursery will be immediately on your right as you exit the elevator. As you check your child in at the desk, you will be given opportunity to leave any instructions and be given a pager so that the nursery attendants can reach you if there is a need. The nursery is open for all services.
For children four years old through 5th grade there are fun, friendly Bible-centered classes. These children gather for an opening session before the 9:30 am and 10:30 am services on Sunday in the Fellowship Hall and then go to age appropriate classes located off the Fellowship Hall.
Youth ministries include the Pathfinders’ sixth grade class, the Navigators for middle school and the Trailblazers for high school students. Each of these groups has a separate Sunday School class as well many outside activities. These students join the regular worship service in the auditorium either before or after Sunday School.
Greeters are located near every entrance and will be happy
to help you find the right classes.
